We acted for a non-associated third party payer in Victoria who paid around $300,000 in legal costs and disbursements to two law practices that refused to provide their invoices on grounds of privilege.
We commenced separate proceedings in the Costs Court against each law practice, were successful in obtaining itemised bills from each of the law practices, prepared detailed objections to each of the law practices’ bills and successfully obtained a refund of around $95,000 from the law practices at mediation.
